SAN FRANCISCO, California – June 12, 2007 – Thinstall, the leading Application Virtualization solution provider, today announced the expansion of its Distribution Partner Program in Pacific-Asia and Japan, naming SOFTBANK BB Corp. (TYO:9984) as its Japanese Distribution Partner. Thinstall also announced specialist Australia and New Zealand software distributor, MicroWay, as a partner to accelerate Thinstall sales through its network of resellers and IT professionals.
With the addition of the new distribution partnerships, Thinstall has penetrated the Japanese and Pacific-Asia markets and is poised to lead the adoption of application virtualization in the region.
“We evaluated Thinstall and found its powerful, proven virtualization technology combined with its ease of use and administration to be a strong fit in the Japanese market,” said Hirokazu Katayama, general manager of Corporate Business Division, Marketing & Development Management Department for SOFTBANK BB’s Commerce & Service Division. “We look forward to offering Thinstall to our Japanese customers and partners.”
"We are pleased to add Thinstall to our portfolio of advanced IT solutions that complement existing infrastructures,” said Chris Erickson, sales manager at MicroWay. “There is an eager market here in Australia and New Zealand, looking for the kind of solution that Thinstall’s virtualization technology provides. It makes application virtualization across the network a simple process, so we look forward to advancing this leading product, particularly to enterprise customers and software developers.”
Applications virtualized with Thinstall can be accessed and updated over an existing delivery infrastructure such as internal company networks, the Internet, Web servers, CD-ROM and Flash devices. The application can be run on-demand on locked-down desktops, offline laptops, Terminal Servers and in Citrix environments.
“Our distribution and sales channel is moving fast, with demand for virtualized applications escalating,” said Henrik Rosendahl, CEO of Thinstall. “This market has taken off and our TCP Partner program is at the forefront on a fast track. We are delighted to open the Japanese and Pacific-Asia regions with top-flight distributors SOFTBANK BB and MicroWay. Business customers will benefit from the deep experience and strong reputation for service that both of these excellent companies have. We look forward to serving the channel with our product roadmap developed for deep traction.”
Virtualization has been used in the past decade to make administration of complex IT environments easier and more flexible, ultimately reducing cost and adding agility. Areas that have been virtualized are Hardware, Storage, Operating Hardware, Operating Systems, I/O and Servers. With the application layer now moving to virtualization, enterprise IT adoption ensures best practice security, speed and cost efficient management. Utilizing virtualization across the network layers, enterprise agility and a competitive bottom-line are assured.

About Thinstall
Thinstall is the next generation of application deployment. Thinstall’s Application Virtualization Platform virtualizes software delivery and access, enabling software companies and enterprises to deploy software without modifying the local operation system. Companies can deploy custom and licensed software across mixed Windows and locked down corporate desktop environments without installation conflicts, system changes or impact on stability. Software updates are easier and faster because regression testing can be reduced to days instead of weeks while installation failures and the associated help desk costs are eliminated.
Thinstall is a client-less application virtualization solution that allows applications to be packaged into simple EXE files that run in user-mode, isolated from the host PC, without installation or changes to the local desktop’s registry and file system. The unique, client-less architecture allows “Thinstalled” applications to be run from any LAN, WAN, USB, CD-Rom drive, etc., with zero-footprint on the host PC. The applications run exclusively in user mode, ensuring seamless execution on locked down desktops with no device drives installed, enabling administrations to maintain a secure, clean and stable user desktop and consequently, a heightened level of security.
Founded in 1999, Thinstall has been deployed to millions of desktops around the world. Customers include GE, the US Department of Defense, Qualcomm, Lucent, Northrop Grumman, Morgan Stanley, T-Systems, and Abbott Labs. Thinstall is privately held with company headquarters in San Francisco, CA. For more information, please visit the company’s Web site at www.thinstall.com or call 415-274-2558.
